MODULE 04 LOCKER PRESENTATION

Team Uniform Finishing & Preparation

The difference between cleaned garments and game-ready uniforms. Precision folding boards, low-pressure de-wrinkling, collar alignment, and organized packaging tailored for competition days.

Cleaning vs. Finishing: A Critical Operational Distinction

Cleaning removes dirt, sweat, and stains. Finishing prepares the uniform for psychological and practical competition readiness. When players walk into a dressing room, the visual order of their locker impacts professional focus. Wrinkled collars, twisted side seams, or kits thrown loosely into bins do not meet high-performance expectations.

Our uniform finishing and preparation module bridges the gap between commercial wash extraction and locker room presentation. We handle garments manually with strict folding tolerances and zero destructive hot pressing.

Dimensional Folding and Crease Control

Synthetic match shirts cannot be pressed using traditional flatbed dry-cleaning irons. Flatbed irons apply 150°C+ heat and mechanical weight that crushes microfibers, producing a glossy "glaze" on dark fabrics and scorching printed numbers.

Instead, we employ low-pressure vertical steam conditioning or regulated tunnel tensioners that relax transport wrinkles using ambient humidity and tension. Once smooth, jerseys pass to manual folding stations:

  • Template Folding: Operators use standardized folding boards to ensure every shirt across the entire 25-man squad folds to exact 260mm x 320mm dimensions.
  • Print Face-Up Orientation: Squad numbers and names remain visible through the top face of the fold. Staff can identify players instantly without unfolding the kit.
  • Collar Symmetry: Ribbed and taped crew necks or v-collars are physically aligned and set flat to prevent roll-over or asymmetrical stretch.
  • Shorts & Underlayers: Match shorts are folded flat with side stripes aligned, tucked inside the player bundle beneath the match shirt.

Presentation Standards

  • No Scorching: Zero direct dry iron contact on heat-applied vinyl transfers or silicone badges.
  • Consistent Footprint: Uniform folded dimensions allow exact fitting inside club travel cases and locker cubbies.
  • Non-Static Handling: Garments handled under humidity-stabilized environments to prevent static cling attraction of dust during folding.

Locker-Ready Grouping and Packaging

Depending on the club's matchday deployment routine, finished uniforms are packaged in one of three ways:

1. Individual Breathable Poly Bundling: Each player's kit (shirt, shorts, socks, warm-up tee) is wrapped in a micro-perforated recyclable sleeve labeled with the player's name and squad number. The sleeve protects the uniform from transit moisture, dust, and luggage handling until the player unpacks it in the dressing room.

2. Hanging Team Racks: First team match kits are suspended on non-slip contoured coat hangers. Hangers are numbered sequentially from 1 to 99, allowing kit staff to transfer uniforms directly onto locker hooks in minutes.

3. High-Density Matchday Trunks: Uniforms are stacked vertically (file-folder style) inside club flight cases. This orientation allows equipment staff to pull any number immediately without disturbing adjacent shirts.

Condition Audits During Preparation

Finishing is our final line of quality control. As our technicians fold each garment, they conduct a tactile four-point check:

  1. Verify seam stitching along underarm vents and side panels.
  2. Verify adhesive adhesion on sponsor transfers, sleeve badges, and back lettering.
  3. Check waistband cord elasticity and eyelet reinforcement on shorts.
  4. Confirm residual soil extraction around collars and armpits under high-CRI inspection lights.

Items failing this final visual clearance are flagged and isolated immediately, allowing equipment managers time to issue backup stock before match departure.

Service Advantages

  • High-level locker room presentation reflecting club standards.
  • Fast distribution by team staff without manual re-folding.
  • Comprehensive physical quality check on every single item.
  • Custom options for air transit, bus luggage, or locker hanging.

Important Boundaries

  • Finishing does not repair pre-existing fabric fraying or peeled vinyl.
  • We do not claim garments are sterile; they are commercially clean and presentation-finished.
  • Turnaround requires reasonable time allowances for manual hand-folding.
